Research
There were two Arthur Shattucks of this approximate age in the 1900 census of New Hampshire. Both were living with their parents in Nashua where the photo was taken.

Arthur H. Shattuck

Arthur Hamilton Shattuck was born 5 Aug 1873 to Henry and Clara Shattuck. He was married about 1906 to Maude Allen Whipple and was living in Lynn, Massachusetts by 1910 where he worked at an electric plant. He and Maude had one child, Roger.

His WWI Draft Registration Card lists him as being of medium height and build with gray eyes and black hair, which may eliminate him as this young man who appears to have lighter hair.

Arthur G. Shattuck

Arthur G. was born in 9 Jul 1870 in Nashua to Gillman and Estelle Shattuck. In 1900 he was working as a railroad clerk. From 1910 to at least 1930 he worked as a stock broker. On 6 Feb 1906 he married Elizabeth A. Flather who died sometime before 1920. They had no children. On 17 Jun 1920 he married Tryphena Victoria Parfitt, an osteopathic physician.

In 1921 he sat on the initial Board of Directors for the Mary E. Hunt Home for Aged Women in Nashua -- an "institution for the support, care, and maintenance of aged and destitute women who are believers in the Protestant religion and residents of the state of New Hampshire."

In 1938 he was a Democratic candidate from the Nashua 1st Ward and, until at least 1941, was a trustee of the Nashua Public Library.

In 1937 he and Tryphena of 2 Auburn Street, Nashua, N.H. appear on the passenger list of the Vulcania departing from Trieste, Italy to New York City. In 1939 they are on the list of the Statendam departing from Boulogne Sur Mer, France to New York City.
