Lois Simer Boesiger, 73, of Gooding, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at Gooding County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Lois was born on June 20, 1930, in Salmon, Idaho. She was the 10th of 11 children. Lois attended schools in Salmon, Los Angeles, Portland, and Snoqualine, Wash., graduating from Camas County High School in 1949. In 1951, she married her high school classmate, Richard Jones. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1964. Lois lived in Shoshone, where she owned and operated a beauty salon from her home. In 1971, she married Ernest Boesiger, also of Shoshone, who survives.
Besides her husband, Ernie, Lois is survived by her four children, John (Lee Ann) Jones of Caldwell, Richard (Mary) Jones of Leavenworth, Kan., Marji (Mark) Anderson of Talent, Ore., and Kathi (Rob) Schollmeyer of Chamois, Mo.; and two stepsons, Steve (Melissa) Boesiger of Bliss and Bob (Cindy) Boesiger of Rupert. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six sisters, a brother and her parents.
Lois' greatest joy in life was her love for her Lord and her love for children. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at the Church of the Nazarene in Gooding. Contributions may be made to the Gooding County Memorial Hospital in Lois' memory.
